Crew & check-ins

How do GPS check-ins work?

When a worker opens Solis on the job site, they tap a code and check in. Their GPS location is verified against the site's coordinates. No honor system, no phone calls. You see who's on site, who's late, and who's missing in one feed.

What if a worker forgets to check in?

You get an alert when expected check-ins don't happen. The worker can check in late and the timestamp is recorded honestly. No rewriting history.

Can workers check in without cell signal?

Yes. Check-ins, photos, and notes captured offline sync to the server the moment the phone gets a signal. The GPS coordinates and timestamps are still recorded at the moment of capture.

How do I add or remove workers?

Add workers from the dashboard or by pasting a spreadsheet. Removing is a single tap. They lose access immediately, and their historical work stays in the record.

Can I see who's on which job site right now?

Yes. The live worker map shows every active worker against the job sites they checked into. One screen, the whole crew.

What's the foreman / site-lead role?

Foremen get an elevated permission set: they can verify other workers' check-ins, mark jobs complete, and initiate change orders without owner approval. Available on Pro and Business.

How does messaging work?

Direct messaging between you and any worker is included on every plan. Group messaging and per-job threads are on Pro and Business. Messages are tied to jobs, so you don't lose context the way you do in regular SMS.

Does Solis track my crew off-the-clock?

No. GPS verification only happens at the moment of check-in and check-out. Solis does not run continuous location tracking, and it's not designed to be a surveillance tool.

Getting started

What is Solis?

Solis is a crew operations platform for general contractors. One mobile app that handles your crew, your jobs, and your money: GPS-verified check-ins, geotagged photo documentation, scheduling, change orders, and invoicing.

Who is Solis for?

General contractors managing multiple crews across active job sites. Solis is built to scale from a couple crews to twenty plus. Our wedge is the owner-operator who is also the dispatcher, the foreman, and the bookkeeper. If the owner still runs the day, Solis is for you.

What does Solis actually do?

Solis replaces the spreadsheets, group texts, and camera rolls you use to run a contracting business today. Your crew checks in from the job site by phone, takes GPS-stamped photos, and you see the whole day in one feed. Schedule jobs, track change orders, send invoices, all without driving between sites.

How long does setup take?

Most contractors are up and running in under an hour. Add your business, import your crew (paste a spreadsheet or add one at a time), create your first job, and send a check-in code to your foreman. No training sessions, no IT setup.

What devices does Solis work on?

iOS, Android, and any modern web browser. The mobile apps are designed for the field: large tap targets, glove-friendly, readable in sunlight.

Do my workers need to create accounts?

No. Workers check in with a phone number and a PIN. No email signup, no password management, no app tutorials. They get a code from you and they're in.

What languages does Solis support?

English and Spanish, fully. Not as a translation. Both are first-class. Your foreman switches the whole interface with one tap. Same buttons, same workflow, whoever's holding the phone.

Invoicing & payments

What invoicing comes with each tier?

Starter ships basic PDF invoicing (line items, send by email). Pro adds the full invoicing lifecycle: status tracking, auto-reminders, payment status, plus online payments via Stripe (cards, ACH, Apple Pay, Google Pay). Business adds the job P&L dashboard, invoice read receipts, and QuickBooks + Xero sync. Stripe processing fees pass through to you at standard rates (2.9% + 30 cents), paid to Stripe directly.

What's the full invoicing lifecycle?

Invoice draft from logged time and materials, then customer review, then online payment or dispute, then reconciliation against the job's P&L. All in one place, no copy-paste between tools.

How do online payments work?

Online payments are coming to the Business plan. Customers will pay by card or ACH from a hosted payment link with funds settling per your processor's standard timeline. Standard processing fees apply. PDF invoicing is available on every plan today.

Does Solis sync with QuickBooks or other accounting tools?

QuickBooks Online sync is coming to the Business plan. It will sync invoices, payments, and expenses so your accountant doesn't have to re-key anything. Xero and other integrations follow based on customer demand.

What is the Job P&L dashboard?

A per-job profitability view: labor logged against the job, materials billed, and revenue collected. Find the jobs that are losing you money before they finish.

Jobs & scheduling

How do I create a job?

Tap New Job, drop in the address, set a start date, and assign workers. The site coordinates anchor your future check-ins, photos, and reports.

How does scheduling work?

Build a weekly schedule by dragging workers onto jobs. The schedule lives on every worker's phone. No separate handout, no morning phone calls. Re-schedule and the crew sees it instantly.

Can I assign multiple workers to one job?

Yes. Assign as many as you need. Each worker's check-ins, hours, and photos are tracked individually but live in the same job record.

How do change orders work?

Create a change order from the field with photos, GPS, and notes attached. The customer signs off in the app or by email. The full lifecycle (request, approval, sign-off, billing) is tracked, so disputes have a clear paper trail.

How do I document job completion?

Run through the completion checklist, attach a final set of geotagged photos, and the customer signs off in-app. The job moves to closed and the invoice can be triggered automatically.

Can a job span multiple days or weeks?

Yes. Jobs run as long as they need to. Daily check-ins, photos, and notes accumulate against the same job record so you can see the whole arc.

Languages

Does Solis work in Spanish?

Yes, fully. Every screen, every workflow, the AI assistant. Most of the crews building in Southern California run in Spanish, so we built it that way from day one.

Can different workers see Solis in different languages?

Yes. Each worker picks their own language. Your foreman can run the day in Spanish while the dashboard you watch is in English.

Is the AI assistant bilingual?

Yes. Ask it questions in either language and it answers in the same language.

Photos & documentation

How do GPS-stamped photos work?

Every photo taken in Solis carries the GPS coordinates, the worker name, and the timestamp from the moment of capture. Baked in, not added later. The metadata can't be edited after the fact.

Are photos timestamped automatically?

Yes. The capture timestamp is the source of truth. There's no way to backdate a photo in Solis.

Can I download photos for an insurance claim or dispute?

Yes. Export any job's photos as a zip with the GPS, worker, and timestamp metadata intact. Exactly what insurers and adjusters want to see.

How long are photos stored?

Indefinitely while you're an active customer. After cancellation, you have 30 days to export before deletion.

Does Solis support video?

Yes. Short job-site videos (up to 2 minutes) are supported on every plan, with the same GPS and timestamp metadata as photos.

Can clients see the photos?

Only if you choose to share them. You can send a customer a job-specific photo bundle by link, no account required on their end.

Pricing & plans

Is Solis available today?

Starter (V1) launches in May 2026. Pro (V2) and Business (V3) ship after. Join the waitlist for any tier and we lock your rate when you join.

How much does Solis cost?

Four plans, all with $20 per worker on top of the platform fee. Starter is $149 a month plus workers. Pro is $349 a month plus workers (launching V2). Business is $799 a month plus workers (launching V3). Enterprise is custom-priced for 100+ worker operations — contact us for a quote. Annual billing saves you two months. Tier choice is driven by which features you need (foreman role, P&L dashboard, multi-entity rollup, SSO) — not the size of your crew. Workers in the field count toward the per-worker fee. Office staff (admin, accountant, bookkeeper) are unlimited at every tier.

What is the Founding Contractor program?

The first 20 paying customers lock launch pricing ($149 Starter / $249 Pro / $499 Business) and $10 per worker for the life of their subscription. After the 20 fill, new signups pay the current rates ($149 / $349 / $799) plus $20 per worker and stay locked there. Enterprise pricing is always custom-negotiated. Priority onboarding, direct line to the founder, your feedback shapes V2.

What's included in each tier?

Starter covers field operations and basic PDF invoicing: GPS check-in, geotagged photos, scheduling, change orders, AI chat in English and Spanish. Pro (V2) adds the foreman role, cross-trade referrals with auto-payout, full invoicing lifecycle, online payments via Stripe, and priority support. Business (V3) adds the job P&L dashboard, invoice read receipts, accounting sync (QuickBooks + Xero), multi-crew routing, branded customer portal, and API access. Enterprise adds SSO, custom integrations, multi-entity rollup, and the AI Knowledge Base trained on your job history. See the comparison table on this page for line-by-line detail.

Do you charge per worker?

Yes. Every worker on Solis is $20 per month at every tier. The platform fee ($149 / $349 / $799, Enterprise is custom-negotiated) covers the features your tier includes. The per-worker fee scales with your crew size. No cap, no included pool. We charge per worker because the product only works when every worker is on it — live map, daily digest, photo chain all need complete coverage. The $20-per-worker rate is locked at launch and can only go down, never up. Founding 20 customers get $10 per worker, locked for life.

When should I upgrade tiers?

Tier choice is feature-driven, not worker-count-driven. Stay on Starter as long as Starter features cover your work. Upgrade to Pro when you need foreman roles, full invoicing, online payments, or cross-trade referrals. Upgrade to Business when you need P&L per job, QuickBooks sync, multi-crew routing, or a dedicated success rep. Workers are $20 each at every tier, so adding workers doesn't force a tier upgrade.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. 7 days, full access to every feature in your chosen tier, no credit card required.

Will the $20-per-worker rate go up?

No. The $20-per-worker rate is locked at launch. It can only go down as we scale, never up. Founding 20 customers get $10 per worker, also locked for life of subscription.

Do you offer annual discounts?

Yes. After three months of continuous service, you can switch to annual billing for the equivalent of two months free. We require the runway because Solis is early and we want to make sure the product is earning its keep before you commit to a year.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There are no contracts or cancellation fees. If you cancel during a trial, you owe nothing. If you cancel a paid plan, you keep access through the end of your billing period.

What payment methods do you accept?

Major credit and debit cards, ACH bank transfer, and (on annual Business plans) wire transfer or invoice billing.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

Your data stays accessible for export for 30 days after cancellation. You can download all your project data, photos, timesheets, and invoices any time during that window.

Are there setup or onboarding fees?

No. Pro and Business plans include a founder-led onboarding call (English or Spanish) to walk through setup, importing your crew, and creating your first job. Starter is self-serve.

Product fit

Is this a time-tracking app?

No. Solis records the work: who showed up, what got done, what got changed, what got signed. Time is one column in that record, alongside attribution, location, output, evidence, and phase. If you only need a timesheet, ClockShark or Workyard are simpler. If you've ever lost an invoice fight because you couldn't prove what happened, that's what Solis is for.

Security & privacy

Is my data secure?

Yes. All data is encrypted at rest and in transit. We follow industry-standard security practices and are working toward SOC 2 Type II certification (see the Security page for current status).

Can I export my data?

Always. Every plan includes full data export (projects, photos, timesheets, invoices) at any time, no hoops.

Who has access to my data?

You and the workers you invite. Solis staff only access customer data with your explicit permission (e.g. for support). Access is logged.

Does Solis sell or share my data?

No. Your data is yours. We don't sell it, share it with third parties, or use it to train models without your explicit opt-in.

Is Solis SOC 2 certified?

We're in the readiness phase. The Security page tracks our current certifications and progress honestly. No pre-launch overstatements.

What happens to crew member data when they leave?

Their access is revoked the moment you remove them. Their historical check-ins, photos, and timesheets stay attached to the jobs they worked on, so your records are intact.

Support

How do I get help?

Reach us through the waitlist signup on the homepage. We're founder-led right now, so support comes directly from the team building the product. As we grow we'll publish formal response targets.

What's the response time for support?

We're founder-led, so support is fast but we don't post a guaranteed-response-time SLA yet. We'd rather meet the bar consistently before claiming it. Pro and Business get prioritized in the queue.

Do you offer onboarding for my team?

Yes. Pro and Business include a founder-led onboarding call (English or Spanish) to walk you through setup, importing your crew, and creating your first job.

Do you offer training for my crew?

Solis is designed to be intuitive enough that your crew picks it up on the first job. We also have short in-app walkthroughs and live onboarding sessions when needed.
